Luxembourg’s National Housing Week
Summer is not over yet and we are already anticipating autumn, the season during which nature can be seen in its full splendour when leaves are turning all...
It's time for Marc and Sophie to replace their old boiler with a more environmentally friendly one that consumes less power. As it is a costly endeavour, the young couple went to see their bank advisor, who suggested that they take out an EcoPrêt loan to finance their project.
Whether for home improvements or big-ticket consumer goods, EcoPrêt loans are specially designed to provide funding for environmentally friendly purchases intended to improve energy efficiency. Since electric and hydrogen cars fall within the “environmentally friendly” category, the loan can also be used to finance the purchase of a zero-emissions vehicle. Quick and flexible, it offers the following benefits:
Since 1 January 2015, on the basis of an EU directive, the government is offering grants to individuals and companies who commit to saving energy. The energy company Enovos has set up a grants programme, called “enoprimes”, offered for a whole range of eligible works. Go to www.enoprimes.lu for a list of eligible projects. You'll also find a list of all the energy suppliers taking part in the programme, including Spuerkeess’s official partners: Enovos and Sudgaz.
The young couple will be toasty warm thanks to their new boiler. Nevertheless, Marc will still be getting his traditional hand-knitted Christmas jumper from Sophie this year. Chin up, Marc!
