Our CSR policy

In keeping with the mandate under Article 5 of its organic law, BCEE seeks to be THE reference on Luxembourg’s financial centre with regard to CSR, with particular emphasis on the proximity to the customer, the promotion of school savings, housing loans, alternative savings, the granting of loans according to social and ecological criteria, shareholding in major Luxembourg companies, banking services for SMEs, as well as the financing of equipment and investments by public and para-governmental authorities.

The Bank’s social engagement was strengthened in 2016 through the creation of an internal CSR Committee, whose purpose is to promote all CSR undertakings and commitments, and also to respond to future CSR regulatory requirements.

BCEE shall continue to promote this philosophy and support a variety of organisations and events, aiming to increase awareness of sustainable development issues.

With regards to the environmental dimension of the CSR, BCEE supports the sustainable development policy of its shareholder, the Luxembourg State and the statements of the European Savings Bank Group.

Commercially, BCEE has completed its product range by creating ecological loans (“EcoPrêt”) aiming to encourage customers to build or renovate homes according to the energetic performance requirements.
In 2008, BCEE joined the IMS (Inspiring More Sustainability a.s.b.l.), an association of companies working for the development of corporate social responsibility in Luxembourg (www.imslux.lu).

Furthermore, since 2012, the Bank holds the CSR quality label conferred by the INDR (Institut National pour le Développement Durable et la Responsabilité Sociale des Entreprises).
